The beads and fibers from Tenaj Creations are here again!  Our classroom is full of beautiful embellishment possibilities.  Come in and see all the beautiful colors and textures and get inspired.  The beads and fibers will be here through this Sunday, March 15.  And remember that Janet, the owner of Tenaj Creations, will be teaching beading classes this Sunday, March 15, too.  See below for details. 

The Foothill Quilters Guild quilt show, "Wish Upon a Star", will take place Friday and Saturday, March 28-29.  It is held at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn, and we will be a vendor again this year.

Machine Quilting with Your Walking Foot, Beth Kondoleon, Sat, Mar 7, -OR- Fri, Mar 27, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., $40, supply list.  Come join Beth as she shows you how to quilt with your walking foot. You will learn some basics of the walking foot, then move on to do some matchstick and crosshatch quilting. We will explore using some of your decorative stitches along with quilting some curves, circles, and radiating designs. Beth will demonstrate which templates you can use to make life easier. So come join the fun and start quilting those tops!
Beading on Fabric, Janet Paehlig, Sun, Mar 15, 9:00 a.m. - noon -OR- 12:30 - 3:30 p.m., $20, supply list.  Janet, the owner of Tenaj Creations in Auburn, CA, will teach you about the several different types of beads available and the best threads and methods to use to embellish your fabric projects with beads.  She has an amazing assortment of beads for purchase--Czech, fused, hand-blown glass, Swarovski crystals, fresh-water pearls, bamboo, sterling silver, and more!  You can either bring one of your projects to embellish or purchase a kit ($5) from Janet to work on.  (The kit includes fabric, batting, beads, and thread.)  
Crazy Quilting - Beginning, Toni Jordan, Sunday, Mar 29, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Apr 12 & 19, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., $60, supply list.  In the first session you will construct a 14" block using a wide variety of fabrics; cottons, silks, tapestries, velvets, linens. In the second session you will start the embellishments. You will learn a variety of embroidery stitches using different threads and techniques. In the third session, you will learn more embroidery stitches and embellishment techniques using buttons, laces, jewelry and other "finds".
Foundation Paper Piecing, Dana Lahargoue, Wed, April 8 & 15, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., $40, supply list. Come and learn this traditional quilting technique that produces perfect blocks, even with small pieces! The class project will be "Rays of Hope" by Carol Doak, which can be made into a pillow or wall hanging.
You Can Quilt Your Own Quilts, Beth Kondoleon, Sat, April 25, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., $40, supply list.
Do you have a stack of quilt tops completed just waiting to be put together and quilted?  Come join Beth to learn how to quilt those quilts yourself.
She has hundreds of designs to choose from and customize to just the right size for your quilt!  Beth can show you how to transfer the designs to your top for quilting, how to pin baste those layers together and start quilting your quilts!  Come join the fun in this open workshop.

New Fabrics and More

We just received nine bolts of minky.  Our supply was getting very low, so this was a welcome delivery!  We've also replenished our embellishment threads--Silken Pearl, Sea Grass, and Razzle--and we've added some Silken Chenille!
