|Button Trunk Show, Linda Sicard, Sat, April 26, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Linda will once again be showing and selling her large and unique collection of antique and vintage buttons and buckles. Linda offers several contemporary button artists plus her ever-changing, ever-expanding array of antique treasures. ||Be sure to mark your calendar for the first weekend in May for the 65th Annual Fiesta Days. This popular family event is packed with family activities and takes place in Fair Oaks Village. Events include a parade, arts/crafts/food booths, live entertainment, and more!

Thistle Dew will be open regular hours during the Fiesta, and scheduled classes will be held. There will be no parking in the Village on Fair Oaks Blvd and some side streets, so please plan accordingly and allow extra time to find parking.
New Fabrics & More
Besides all the beautiful fabrics pictured below, including three new Asian collections and wonderful blenders, we have also replenished our handwork supplies with more silken pearl and cotton ribbon floss, including some new colors!

Because of various scheduling conflicts, we have had to reschedule the following classes:
Journey of a Quilter-Monday. The morning and afternoon sessions for this class have been changed for May and June:
The May 26 classes will meet on May 19
The June 23 classes will meet on June 30
There are no changes to the Tuesday sessions.
Handwork Sit & Sew-Monday. There will be mo meetings of this group in April, May or June.
The Saturday, June 21, classes have been moved to Saturday, June 28.
The Tuesday, June 17 morning class has been moved to June 10.

||Beginning Crazy Quilting, Toni Jordan, Sun - Apr 27, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; May 4, 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.; Jun 8, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., $60, supply list. In the first session you’ll construct a 14” block using a wide variety of fabrics; cottons, silks, tapestries, velvets, linens… In the second session you will start the embellishments. You will learn a variety of embroidery stitches using different threads and techniques. In the third session, you will learn more embroidery stitches and embellishment techniques using buttons, laces, jewelry and other “finds”.
|Foundation Paper Piecing, Dana Lahargoue, Thu, Apr 24 & May 8, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., $40, supply list. Come and learn this traditional quilting technique that produces perfect blocks, even with small pieces! The class project will be "Rays of Hope" by Carol Doak, which can be made into a pillow or wall hanging. Thu, Apr 10 & Apr 17, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
||Circle Pizzazz, Judy Sisneros, Sat, May 31, 10:00 a.m. – Noon - 4:00 p.m., $60, supply list. Judy's inspiration for this class began with the 'snake trail' block, which she has taught for years as "Winding Paths" - a great design. She wondered what would happen if she made the block and then re-cut it, made a little change, and then remade the block. It was wonderful! Plus, with the 'planned-overs' you have pieces to make a second quilt. Come spend a fun, instructional day with Judy and make your own unique pizzazz quilt. Templates are available for purchase. Intermediate level.
Beatle Bag, Sandi Fong, Fri, July 11 & 25, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., $50, supply list. This can be a sewing bag for threads and notions, a travel bag for makeup and jewelry, a craft bag...there are so many possibilities. A fun and very useful project. Sandi brought her bags to the shop last week, and we all loved them so much we begged her to teach a class. Luckily, she agreed!
||Beading on Fabric, Janet Paehlig, Sat, June 21, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., $20, supply list. Janet, the owner of Tenaj Creations in Auburn, CA, has been designing and making jewelry and embellishing fabric projects with beads for over 12 years. In this class, she will talk to you about the several different types of beads available and the best threads and methods to use to embellish your fabric projects with beads. She has an amazing assortment of beads for purchase--Czech, fused, hand-blown glass, Swarovski crystals, fresh-water pearls, bamboo, sterling silver, and more! You can either bring one of your projects to embellish or purchase a kit ($5) from Janet to work on. (The kit includes fabric, batting, beads, and thread.)
