Without a doubt the Baltimore Album Quilt is a beautiful quilt with its origins dating to the mid 1850's in Baltimore Maryland. They will always be a favorite heirloom quilt. In this class all levels of students are welcome, as we start with some basic applique skills, and work our way through different techniques for dimensional flowers, inked and silk ribbon embellishments and ribbon and ruched roses. Learn to make the squirrel with a stuffed body and couched-on eyelash yarn for the tail. Sandra will also provide the small piece of yarn you need. Some embroidery stitches will be demonstrated for the acorns as well. December 1: "Sailing to Baltimore" block, pattern provided by Sandra. Learn to ink fabric for realistic shading of sails.
